Hour One allows users to create a studio-grade custom character to use in videos on top of those available in the editor. It can be made to your likeness or that of someone else you’d like representing your brand in future videos.

Users on the Business plan (paid add-on) or Enterprise plan are eligible for a custom character.

What is a custom character? Custom Characters refer to unique virtual humans created solely for an individual user. Once made, only the user’s account can make videos with the new character.

This is an excellent option for organizations who want a unique model representing their video content or someone in the organization (For example, a character modeled after the CEO or HR manager to narrate internal video presentations).

Note: Ordering a custom character is separate from ordering a voice clone.

How it Works

The first step in creating a custom avatar is to find a local video studio (cost not covered by Hour One). Once located, Hour One directors will fully support you by handling the day/time for the shooting and will work with the directors at the studio to perform the shooting remotely. Along with precise footage requirements and specifications that will be shared with the relevant members who start the process.

What to expect on shooting day:

• Session length depends on the number of people and looks captured
• Max session length - 4 hours
• Each outfit takes about 30-40 minutes to shoot.
• In the session, Talent will be asked to speak continuously for 1-2 minutes at a time.

It takes approximately 30 days from when Hour One obtains the footage from the shooting day. During those 30 days, the character will go through extensive AI training. The final version of the character will be delivered directly to your Reals account.

Your custom avatar is only available to your account and unavailable to other users unless specified otherwise.

Ongoing Support

Hour One continuously works to improve the AI training algorithms to obtain the highest quality. Whenever a new algorithm is available, your custom character will be retrained. This improvement process will happen automatically with no downtime.
